Features:
Silicone/ VMQ rubber is a saturated non-polar rubber based on the silicon element obtained from quartz, and is formed by silicon atoms adhering side chains such as methyl and ethyl end groups. Different side chains lead to different properties of silicone rubber. Methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ) is a widely used silicone rubber material. Silicone rubber has excellent heat resistance, low-temperature elasticity and particularly excellent resistance to oxidation and ozone. It has high air permeability and selectivity for gas transmission. Good electrical insulation properties (volume resistance greater than 10Ω.cm and breakdown voltage above 30kv/mrn), corona resistance and arc resistance. However, by adding conductive carbon black, nickel powder, aluminum powder, and silver powder, moderate conductivity can be obtained (the bulk resistance can reach 5-0.02Ω.cm). The surface energy of silicone rubber is low, hygroscopic, and can provide isolation. effect. It is water-resistant, but has poor water vapor resistance. It is not recommended for use when pressure exceeds 50psi. Generally, silicone rubber has good acid and alkali resistance, acceptable resistance to polar solvents, and is not resistant to alkanes and aromatic oils. It is not recommended to be used in most concentrated solvents, oils, concentrated acids and diluted caustic soda solutions. Special silicone rubber also has properties such as radiation resistance, flame resistance, and oil resistance. It has low tensile strength and weak wear resistance, and is generally not used for dynamic seals.
Temperature:
-55℃ ~ 100℃
Application:
Silicone rubber has a large working range and resistance to thermal oxidation, ozone aging, light aging and weather aging. Its mechanical properties are poor compared to other rubber materials. Generally speaking, silicone rubber is non-toxic, odorless and physiologically harmless; it is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
